Their mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system.
According to a U.S. Department of Justice estimate, police officers shoot and kill more than 10,000 pet dogs in the U.S. every year. Of Dogs and Men takes audiences on a journey with pet owners through the tragedy of loss and pursuit of change in a legal system in which the very officers they challenge are an integral part.
This red carpet display was for the premiere of their the new documentary, “Of Dogs and Men”. The screening was held at the Laemmle Royal in Los Angeles followed by a Q&A session with the film’s director, Michael Ozias, producer, Patrick Reasonover and retired LAPD detective, Sal LaBarbera, discussing how we can change the system to better protect police officers and our pets.
