This week Toyota invited more than 300 future Mirai owners to a Back to the Future themed event in Southern California to celebrate the U.S. arrival of the futuristic hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reenacted the famous trash-into-fuel scene from the movie, but with modern day, real-life technology used to turn almost anything (including trash) into fuel for the Mirai.
More than 2,000 people have requested to buy the Mirai in California so far, which is where the hydrogen-powered car will be available first. Toyota picked the day Marty and Doc went ‘back to the future’ as the launch day for the Mirai in California, celebrating the owners who will soon get to experience a hydrogen-powered future.
